This is not an ordinary piece of vacant land. Known as the Baldwin/Big Wonder, or The Wonder Group, this patented mining claim is made up of 11 claims with a history reaching back to Arizona’s early mining years. The Jerome-Oatman Mining Company operated the mine from 1915 to 1917, working gold and silver from beneath the surrounding desert. Historical records in Weed’s Mine Handbook, 1922 describe a 390-foot shaft and approximately 600 feet of drift. Today, the property remains remote and undeveloped, offering a tangible connection to the mining history that helped shape this part of Mohave County. There is currently no legal access or roadway to the property, and reaching it requires hiking across rugged desert terrain. No utilities are available. Mine dimensions and historical information have not been independently verified and are based on available historical records. Approximate location is south to southwest of Silver Creek Road.
